Snow Teddy

This year I wanted to do something different as a snow sculpture when we finally had a good blizzard. I carved a snowman shaped like a teddy bear. The eyes, nose, mouth, buttons and scarves came from cheap snowman-making kits at Five Below. I'd been planning this idea for a couple years but hadn't gotten a good snow to do it with. I'd say this is my best snowman sculpture yet.

The soft features from working with snow seemed perfect for a teddy bear and the snowman kit accoutrements added just the right amount of color against the white. Originally, I tried using colored water to define the features (read about it on the web) but the water bled and it wasn't very visible anyway. Next year, I'll have to come up with something even better.
